Honestly, you wait ages for a new Faust news story and then along come two. Just found out that the very tasteful San Francisco reissue label Superior Viaduct (responsible for such choice reissues as Tarkovsky soundtracks, Alice Coltrane and The Residents) are bring drone minimalist Tony Conrad’s 1973 collaboration with Faust. Recorded in their Wumme studio during the peak years, its a classic of the avant-garde. The 1993 reissue on Table of the Elements has long been out of print and unaffordable second hand so this comes as a real godsend.
