Benefit for the Recovery in Japan
Just in case you weren’t aware, Antiopic have put together a 64-track compilation album for download with 100% of the proceeds going to Japan.
The album includes contributions from Grouper, Stephan Mathieu, Akron/Family, Oneohtrix Point Never, Ben Frost, Grouper, James Blackshaw with Hush Arbors, Tom Carter, Rhys Chatham, both halves of Barn Owl (Evan Caminiti and Elm aka Jon Porras) and a whole lot more.

Trensmat are back….with a blast
Irish record label Trensmat are back in action for 2011 after a couple of years off.
They’re kicking off in style by releasing two dirtily limited 7″s in April (with digital extras) from Astral Social Club and Evan Caminiti (one half of Barn Owl). Frankly, just thinking about these releases gives me the horn.
There are little nugget-sized snatches of each side of each vinyl over on the Trensmat website and they’ve also produced a lovely little video to accompany the first side of the Astral Social Club release:
