Hebden Bridge – Infolk – AL DOUM & THE FARYDS – Sunday 4th November 2012

Majorly excited to be in a venue we’ve never used before and to be bringing you the Yorkshire leg of the first ever European tour by Al Doum and the Faryds.

They’re a six piece Italian band who mix head-fuzzing psychedelic guitar sounds with rhythm-heavy Arabian music. They self-released their untitled debut album last year which caused a global splash and the ripples have been riding high ever since. They are roaming the continent in support of their second album “Positive Force” which is coming out on UK label Julia Dream Recordings. Here’s a taster of the new sound:

The venue we’re using is new Hebden institution Inkfolk. Described as a pop-up venue, Inkfolk is once more taking over the canalside basement of Hebden landmark the Machpelah Works for a whole weekend and we’re honoured to be asked to finish it off. The venue is easy enough to find being right on the main road through Hebden by the turning for the train station.

Al from the band will also be playing a special DJ set of Afro Sound, Nigerian blues, African funk & fusion, modern high life, funky Lagos and Ethio jazz.

Tickets are on sale now from wasistdas.bigcartel.com/ and first 20 buyers get a free Was Ist Das? mix CD made especially for the event.
