Nottingham – Chameleon Arts Café – FLAMINGO CREATURES + DANIEL VOIGT – Wednesday 12th August 2015

rammelwebDelighted to be DJing in Nottingham for this very fine gig from the Rammel Club people. On the bill are Ruth and Ronnie from German collective Datashock aka Flamingo Creatures. Their live sets are a wild, Dadaist explosion of noise and sound. With the help of electronics, bells, a violin and various percussion instruments the couple develops musical dialogues that speak to you in the most handsome way one can think of. Like Hans-Joachim Roedelius waltzing with Joan La Barbara while Smegma play (quietly) in the back.

Also on the bill is Daniel Voigt, the artists formerly known as Hering Und Seine Sieben Sachen, and head of Sic Sic Tapes. Augmented by effect pedals & mixer treatments Daniel Voigt blends a Musique Concrète approach (cutting up tapes and looping sounds with the help of several walkmen) with the cosmic aesthetics of Krautrock to make his music sound like the love child of Delia Derbyshire and Klaus Schulze. Both these acts are headed North to play our Tor Ist Das? Festival.

Yerma Mansa were to have played too but had to cancel. Perhaps some surprise may take their place? If not, you’ll get even more of me DJing

Tickets on the door only – £6 waged / £4 unwaged
