Hebden Bridge – Nutclough Tavern Studio – SUZUKI JUNZO + MICHAEL LINDEN WEST + JUMBLE HOLE CLOUGH – Friday 25th October 2013

junzo 3 webDelighted to be welcoming back Suzuki Junzo for this third Hebden gig in as many years. The psychedelic troubadour has not one but two albums out this Autumn. One album, “Portrait of Madeleine Elster” is coming out on Utech Records (based in Milwaukee). This album is focused on Electric Guitar in the style of 2012’s “Ode to a Blue ghost” and”Eight-Sided Infinity”. The other album, “Sings 2” is more focused on Junzo singing and sees him joined by Makoto Kawabata of Acid Mothers Temple. Both albums feauture Ikuro Takahashi whose credits include LSD March, Fushitsusha, High Rise, Overhang Party and many more.

A member of the Acid Mothers Temple family, as well as being a prolific solo artist & the lead singer of Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Cosmic Blues Band, he also fronts Japanese psyche wonders Miminokoto and is in the duo 20 Guilders with Tabata Mitsuru of Zeni Geva and Acid Mothers Temple.

Also on the bill, we have Michael Linden West, formerly of The Ukrainians, Crippled Black Phoenix and Electric Brains. He currently plays in Vimana Attack and Abrasive Pheasants. He also played in Damo Suzuki’s band last time he rolled into town. For this special solo set, Michael will be performing guitar based droneworks based on wholetone scales.

Opening the night we have the debut live performance from Jumble Hole Cloug. Jumble Hole Clough is the solo project of Colin Robinson from Big Block 454 and takes up a sonic exploration of the landscapes of the North.

Please note, despite the name, the Nutclough Tavern is not a licensed venue and you will need to bring your own beer. This is a pay what you can afford event.
