Hebden Bridge – Trades Club – ACID MOTHERS TEMPLE & THE MELTING PARAISO U.F.O. + METAL ROUGE + CHALAQUE – Wednesday 9th October 2013

Acid mothers mainliner webYou asked for it and you’ve got it! Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. are coming back to Hebden Bridge.

Since their last visit, they’ve expanded to a 5 piece with new member Tabata Mitsuru adding more guitar. Tabata was a founding member of both The Boredoms and Zeni Geva, so things are going to be even heavier.

That’s not all, though, oh no! We have Metal Rouge. This duo, originally formed in New Zealand and are now based in Los Angeles.

“Metal Rouge take off on the clanging desert hysteria of Joy Shapes-era Charalambides while channeling avant garage moves as diverse as Teenage Jesus, Pere Ubu and The Dead C, navigating zones of levitating feedback and singing amplifier damage with sliding tones, crunching minor chords and an assaultive style that would relocate the broken bottleneck blues of Blind Willie Johnson downwind of the Silence-era titans cut with beautifully excessive female vocals…it feels like one of the greatest extensions-in-spirit of the jubilant fanfare for the end of the world style of the Albert Ayler Orchestra, albeit played with such an intuitive feel for contemporary experiments in energy-into-form that it feels peerlessly ‘tomorrow’”– Volcanic Tongue
